Anniversary Heart Shaped Cake

Anniversary Heart Cake for Your Loved One

We like to associate cakes with so many occasions from birthdays to christenings, anniversaries to Valentines.

This heart-shaped cake was a cake order I did for a young couple celebrating their one year anniversary. I thought it was so sweet they were celebrating this milestone, and I was really pleased to be able to bake for them.

The cake is my signature chocolate cake with chocolate fudge filling, which is always a good start 😉

I have a heart-shaped ring that I was planning to use however I decided to experiment a little and see if I could use the ring as a makeshift baking tin. I sealed the bottom of the ring with parchment paper and poured in the chocolate batter. There was a little leakage around the edges but not much to worry.

I popped it in the oven for around 35 to 40 minutes and kept a close eye on it to make sure there was no disaster happening!

Once baked, I let it cool for about 10 minutes before I unstuck the parchment paper from the bottom and removed the ring. I was really surprised and very happy with the final result. It was a perfect heart-shaped cake.

I covered my cake with white fondant and topped it off with a nice red bow. A cake of elegance!
